Thank you to all our generous donors! We met our challenge goal of raising $100,000 and will receive a match from The Greater New Orleans Foundation Freeman Challenge!

To celebrate our 10 year anniversary, EQA is launching a Student and Alumni Support Endowment. EQA will use this endowment to fund micro grants and scholarships to students and alumni facing acute financial challenges.

For many of our families, small financial challenges can often derail the best laid plans. The cost of buying textbooks can make or break a graduate’s decision to attend community college.  A hurricane evacuation can turn into a permanent move if a family does not have the funds to make the trip back to New Orleans.  Staying home from school because there’s no money for a babysitter can lead to a student deciding to give up completely and drop out.

We will keep raising funds to continue to grow the endowment. Donate at any time by clicking below.

Educators for Quality Alternatives is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. All donations are used to provide services and supports to our students and are tax deductible as applicable by law.

Interested in donating to our ongoing operating expenses?  Here are some examples of how your donation will help our students:

$25 Classroom Supplies

Classroom supplies for one student. We always need support in helping purchase basic classroom supplies for students in need.

$100 Classroom Libraries

Classroom libraries support our all of our classroom projects and activities. Independent study work and internship projects require a variety of books on different subjects. Help support our students' curiosity by donating money towards classroom libraries.

$300 Tools for Teachers

Technology is not an end in itself, but it can be a tremendous tool for creative instruction and data-driven analysis. Laptops, flip camcorders, interactive whiteboards, and educational software can support our teachers becoming even more effective in their work.

$1000 Mental Health Counseling

Many EQA students struggle with serious mental health and behavioral health issues including Trauma, C-PSTD, Bipolar disorders, ADHD, and substance abuse. Such students need intensive, and expensive, supports inside and outside of school.
